RTD Elements
MINCO Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs)
Our MINCO Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs) are designed to meet the precise temperature sensing needs of a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. With operating ranges spanning from -200°C to 600°C (-328°F to 1112°F) in various models, MINCO RTDs are ideal for environments where accuracy, stability, and long-term performance are critical. We offer both economy and standard sensor options to ensure that you can choose the right solution for your specific requirements, whether it’s cost-effectiveness or superior precision.
Economy Sensors for Cost-Sensitive Applications
Our Economy Sensors provide a budget-friendly option while maintaining a high level of performance. These sensors are designed for easy integration, featuring pre-attached, insulated leads that simplify final assembly. They are available in a wide range of configurations to fit most engineering applications and come with standard element options such as 100Ω and 1000Ω platinum RTDs and 120Ω nickel elements.
Economy sensors feature thin-film RTD elements, which offer good accuracy at a lower price point. These sensors have a temperature range extending from -50°C to 500°C (-58°F to 932°F), depending on the specific configuration. Despite their low cost, these elements provide reliable performance with minimal drift over time. They are an excellent choice for cost-sensitive applications where precise temperature measurement is still required, such as HVAC systems, general industrial use, and automotive applications.
Thin-film elements are constructed by depositing a thin layer of platinum onto a ceramic substrate, making them highly suitable for applications that need fast response times and compact designs. This makes them ideal for high-volume production environments where affordability and consistent performance are essential.
Standard Sensors for High-Precision Applications
For applications that demand higher precision and reliability, our Standard RTD elements are the ideal solution. These RTDs are available in both thin-film and wire-wound configurations, with temperature ranges that extend from -269°C to 600°C (-452°F to 1112°F), depending on the model.
Wire-Wound Elements
Our wire-wound RTD elements are built for high accuracy and stability, particularly in environments where temperature fluctuations are significant. These elements use a platinum wire wound around a ceramic or glass core, providing exceptional repeatability and minimal drift, with long-term stability of less than 0.1°C per year. With a temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of 0.00385 Ω/Ω/°C and resistance tolerances of ±0.1% at 0°C, wire-wound elements are ideal for applications requiring highly precise measurements, such as laboratory research, aerospace, and industrial process control.
These elements can operate in temperatures ranging from -100°C to 550°C (-148°F to 1022°F), with some models capable of functioning at cryogenic temperatures down to -269°C. Additionally, wire-wound RTDs are designed to withstand harsh conditions, such as shocks up to 100 G’s and vibrations up to 20 G’s, making them suitable for demanding industrial environments.
Thin-Film Elements
Our thin-film RTD elements in the standard series are designed for applications where both accuracy and cost-effectiveness are important. Thin-film elements offer resistances up to 10,000Ω and can operate in temperature ranges from -50°C to 600°C (-58°F to 1112°F). These elements are built using a platinum film deposited on an aluminum oxide substrate, covered with fused glass for durability.
Thin-film RTDs in the standard series also meet EN60751 Class B standards, providing a tolerance of ±0.12% at 0°C. For applications requiring even higher accuracy, Class A models are available, offering a tighter tolerance of ±0.06%. These elements are commonly used in environments where a balance of cost and precision is required, such as in HVAC, automotive, and electronic devices that rely on consistent temperature measurement.
With their compact size and surface mount technology (SMT) options, standard thin-film RTDs offer flexibility for use in space-constrained applications. Their design allows for stable performance over long periods with minimal drift, making them a cost-effective option without sacrificing accuracy.
