BT1 Series Temperature Transmitters

BT1 series temperature transmitters combine a Class B Pt100 sensing element and transmitter in a compact 316 stainless-steel assembly. Standard 1–4 inch probes and threaded process connections suit hydraulic systems, mobile equipment, industrial automation and oil-and-gas applications.

Choose 4–20 mA, voltage, ratiometric or custom voltage output, with CSA or ATEX application options as documented for the selected configuration. The configurator covers standard Celsius and Fahrenheit spans within the specified −40 to 200°C media limits. Availability is by inquiry.

Ordering and configuration

Select the approval/application, output, lower and upper range limits, temperature unit, probe length, process connection and electrical connection. The upper range limit must exceed the lower limit. The catalogue example is BT1CS-5-KZF-L1P8T2. ATEX selections are restricted to 4–20 mA current output by the documented electrical-data table.

For voltage and custom-voltage outputs, state the required signal span in the RFQ message. CAN J1939, CANopen, Kelvin units, custom probes/connections and the catalogue’s −55/−50°C endpoints require confirmation before ordering; complete ordering information is not supplied for all of these options. Standard configurable process codes are P1, P3 and P8; contact Mod-Tronic for 9/16-18 UNF or custom connections.

Application and approval limits

Media limits are −40 to 200°C and ambient limits are −40 to 85°C in the detailed specifications. The catalogue headline also lists ranges down to −55°C; confirm any application below −40°C with Mod-Tronic. Approval markings, permitted gas groups, supply/entity limits and connection requirements depend on the exact device and applicable certificate/control drawing. An external intrinsic-safety barrier is required where specified. The attached installation manual covers CSA intrinsically safe BT1/BT2/BT3 versions.
